FAQ

Flush sash windows are a hybrid modern traditional double glazing window solution. They are distinguished by their classic lines that fit the flush perfectly into the window frame. Flush sash windows, like the rest of our uPVC window range, are A rated as standard. They offer a lower cost window with higher thermal benefits than timber – in addition to being fully secure.

Our flush sash windows come with the latest multi-point locking systems as standard giving you peace-of-mind high security, along with push-button key-locking mechanisms on the handles. Poorly maintained windows will increase the risk your property has of being burgled. It’s imperative you take the appropriate care of your windows, When windows aren’t maintained adequately, they can be more prone to damage and more susceptible to forced entry.

Flush sash windows made with low emissivity glazing or with triple glazing are extremely energy-efficient. Our flush sash windows are fitted with double glazing as standard which is energy efficient in itself but you can also upgrade your glass to increase the energy efficiency of your windows and save on energy bills. For instance, we have triple glazed glass with an argon gas-filled cavity and a Low-E coating available which gives better heat insulation as the Low-E coating keeps radiant heat inside your home during winter.

Finding window prices for a window replacement can be a difficult business. There are so many factors that can affect the price of the materials and labour involved that it’s almost impossible for a window installer to estimate without visiting your home. Costs will inevitably vary depending on the size of your house, the number of doors and windows you have, and what type of double glazing you choose.

Double glazing will help reduce condensation on windows. As double glazing is made up of two panes of glass with an air gap in between, it means the inner pane of glass will be warmer which means less chance of condensation. One of the benefits of double glazing is that they reduce the loss of heat from your home. With single glazed windows, the surface temperature of the glass is lower which increases the risk of condensation, especially in winter. Double glazing can’t eliminate condensation entirely, so following a combined approach of windows, ventilation and reduced moisture is the only way to completely get rid of condensation.

The general consensus on double glazing lifespan is estimated to be anything between 20 - 25 years, with many lasting even longer, this can be extended with proper care and maintenance, such as cleaning the frames and glass regularly and checking for any signs of wear and tear. If your windows are showing signs that they need replacing, our expert team can help you to choose the best solution for your home.
